What is the PTFB?

PTFB is a vital part of the DCHS community. In addition to providing a forum for open, sincere, and supportive communication between the school staff and parents, it is the part of the school where parents and teachers can come together to undergird the school in prayer. Learn more.

What is the PTFB?

The PTFB is a DCHS parent-run organization that teams up with school administration, faculty, and staff. The PTFB helps raise funds for DCHS with two major events each school year: the Royal Connection Discount Card Fundraiser and the Legacy Classic. Funds collected from these two events enable the PTFB to provide the students of DCHS with opportunities in purchasing items such as microscopes and other classroom needs, buses, senior gifts, athletic equipment and uniforms, and much more! Whether it is All Sports Day: Feed the Teams, Harvest Fest, or another school event, the PTFB and all of its volunteers help, support, and serve with a loving heart!

How Can I Help?

First of all: pray! Please pray for DCHS and the students, the PTFB, and also how you can help. There are many opportunities for volunteering. A great way to get involved with the PTFB is to attend the monthly meetings. At the meetings, you will learn how the PTFB works, get a deeper understanding of the school, and meet other parents who are passionate about supporting DCHS. Throughout the school year, the PTFB also needs volunteers to help out during events, stuff envelopes for Legacy Classic, work in the concessions stand, and, sometimes, to simply bake brownies! It all counts.

DCHS Concessions Stand

The concessions stand, located in the Arts & Athletics Center, is opened during the fall, winter, and spring sports seasons. Most games are played on weekday afternoons, with some Saturday morning games. Parents and students alike are encouraged to volunteer to help sell food and drinks. If you would like to learn more about volunteering for the concessions stand, please click here to e-mail Rachel Vonhof, the PTFB volunteer coordinator.

Royal Connection Discount Card Fundraiser

The Royal Connection Discount Card Fundraiser runs from the beginning of the school year in August through mid-November. At the Family BBQ in August, each family is given a “Purple Pack.” Inside this packet is a letter with short instructions and 10 Royal Connection Discount Cards. The cards list offers & discounts from area businesses and sell for $10 each. The PTFB asks that each family sell all of their cards or buy their cards upfront and then sell or gift them. 100% of the money earned from these cards goes back to the PTFB–which, in turn, goes back to our students. It’s a win-win!

Legacy Serve-a-Thon

The Legacy Classic Serve-a-Thon brings together all DCHS parents, staff, and students for a powerful, school-wide family event with the purpose of generating funds for DCHS while serving the community.

Money raised through the Legacy Serve-a-Thon will be used to fund student scholarships and the PTFB. To generate funds, DCHS students will seek sponsorships in exchange for their service to the community. To secure the sponsorships, students mail brochures to people that they know.

The PTFB helps assemble and prepare the brochure packets for distribution at the Legacy Kick-Off night, held in early March. Traditionally, members of the PTFB have also secured donated items from area businesses to give out as door prizes at the event.
