Delmarva High School has an opening for High School Principal
LOCATION: Delmarva Christian High School, Georgetown, Delaware
REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
STARTING DATE: July 1, 2012
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A profession of faith in Jesus Christ.
2. Master’s or Doctorate Degree Preferred, from an accredited college.
3. Qualify, at time of hire, for Association of Christian Schools International as a High School Principal.
4. Minimum of three (3) years of High School teaching experience to be initially assigned as a Principal for candidates with no prior administrative experience.
5. Administrative experience preferred.
6. Excellent organizational, planning and implementation skills.
7. Applicant must demonstrate a level of knowledge and/or experience appropriate to the position.
8. Favorable criminal background check for the candidate offered employment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervises the school’s educational and spiritual programs
2. Assumes responsibility for the implementation of all Board policies
3. Assumes the leadership role in the development of the ‘Living Curriculum’ and the integration of all disciplines to support the student in developing a Christian worldview
4. Supervises all personnel assigned to the school
5. Recruits, screens, interviews, trains, assigns, and evaluates the school’s professional staff
6. Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school facilities
7. Delegates authority to responsible individuals for the operation of the school as practicable
8. Maintains high levels of expectations for the staff and students in terms of achievement, conduct, and professionalism
9. Coordinates and assists in the in-service and professional development programs for staff
10. Supervises the preparation of all reports in a timely manner
11. Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct, and health of students
12. Assists in the preparation of the school budget as liaison between the school and the community, interpreting activities and policies of the school and encouraging community participation in school life
14. Facilitates the implementation of Matthew 18 principles within the school community, to include the Board, parents, students, staff, and business/ government/ministry constituents
15.Conducts and oversees the staff evaluation process, to include documentation of successes, reconciliation to standards through the Performance Improvement Process, and if necessary, the recommendation of employment termination
16. Conducts meetings with constituent members to insure the proper functioning of the school and the accomplishment of the school’s mission
17. Attends all Board meetings, accepting assignments as required
18. Any duties deemed necessary by the Board of Directors
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Twelve month position
2. Salary based on current Salary schedule
3. Benefits in accordance with current Delmarva Christian School Board policy
