A letter from Kristin Bennett – 2012 Legacy Chairperson

Dear Royals, Parents and Staff,

I wanted to share with you what a success the seventh annual
Legacy Serve-a-Thon was on Friday, April 27th! Students, staff
and volunteers put their faith into action by serving others
throughout the area including fellowship to homebound individuals,
yard work and minor buiding/repair projects. They not only helped
others in need, but were blessed in return by the kindness and love
shown by those who received time and service from DCHS students.

We serve an awesome God! Thank you so much for YOUR part in serving
in Legacy 2012! Whether in prayer, service and/or financial participation,
it is all vital for the success of this fundraiser.

With that said, we are getting close to our goal of $50,000, but not quite
there yet. As of today, we have raised approximately $35,000 from generous
donations. That is amazing but I know God is not finished yet!

Meeting our goal of $50,000 is “doable” for DCHS. It means each student
is asked to meet donations of $300. We can do this!!! It’s not too late!

Of our 175 students, 58% participated in the brochure campaign whether
it was sending their 25 brochures/student OR “buying out” their brochures
by donating $300 or more.

I am asking that you pray about the success of the Legacy fundraiser. The
monies brought in benefit ALL. First, approximately 25% of the students
at DCHS receive scholarships from this fundraiser. Second, the PTF and
Boosters organizations are able to fund co-curricular and extra-curricular
activities for every student. Lastly, the Legacy carries forth benefits for many
classes of students to come.

Thank you again for your time, prayer, and participation in helping DCHS reach
our goal of $50,000 for Legacy 2012. Please consider supporting this important
fundraiser if you have not had the chance to do so yet.
