Summer Reading Program
Enlivening, Enriching, Endearing
Teenagers and young adults are reading less and less for entertainment and personal enrichment, according to the National Endowment for the Arts. There is a concern that young people are coming to equate reading with school work. The goal of the Delmarva Christian High School summer reading program is to reignite the joy of reading – or to fan the flames of those already richly endowed with a love of the written word. So the collections that appear here feature writers and works that enliven, enrich and endear themselves to readers of every age and level of enthusiasm. Our hope is that a new appreciation of literature will evolve over the summer, so that our students return to school with an enlivened sense of curiosity. Enjoy!
