Our History
In April 1999, a group of Sussex County educators, businesspeople, pastors and parents came together to form Delmarva Christian Schools, Inc. to address the issue of high school education for the area’s youth. Statistics published by the Sussex County Economic Development Office indicated that Sussex County, the largest county in Delaware, had a population of about 140,000 people, of those 8,000 were students in grades 9 through 12.
The statistics projected that population in Sussex County would increase to about 155,000 people by the year 2010, of which 8,860 would be high school students. After extensive research and numerous meetings, it was decided that Delmarva Christian Schools, Inc. would commit its talent and resources to developing a private, Christian high school for the communities of the greater Sussex County area.
Delmarva Christian High School, located in Georgetown, the geographic center of Sussex County, was and continues to be dedicated in providing quality education with a Christ-centered focus. Delmarva Christian High School is not a charter school, but a privately funded education facility. The overall objective of Delmarva Christian High School is to educate youth with the knowledge of how to apply Biblical principles to their daily lives.
