DCHS Students Use ‘Human Video’ to Enliven Christian Messages

Their movements evolve gracefully as they reach high into the air as if to touch a star. In a smooth transition, they form the shape of mountains peaks. Just as powerful are the words DCHS students mouth with their gestures: I’m that star up in the sky, I’m that mountain peak up high. Hey, I made it, I’m the world’s greatest!

messages. Trained by the Eastern Shore Master’s Commission, DCHS students learned how to combine contemporary music with choreographed gestures and movements. The group of ten took their performance to the streets of Baltimore for a four-day ministry sharing inspirational stories with other youthsand adults.

Teacher Janice Curtis says the art form pulls both the performers and the audience members together with uplifting songs and messages of hope and triumph, such as the song World’s Greatest.

“We are nothing without Christ,” said Mrs. Curtis. “No matter what life brings, whether we are in the wilderness, the low valleys, life’s the lowest points, when we understand we are loved by God we do become the world’s greatest. With Christ, we are victorious.”
